Pearl is the official stone of the month of June, but that’s not the only reason that summer fancies these classic water gems. Pearl jewellery has long been associated with evening wear and mature women, but since stars like A$AP Rocky, Harry Styles, and Machine Gun Kelly started trading their gold chains for pearl necklaces, the classic jewellery item has gained an edgier, gender-fluid following.

Most credit is due to the male stars championing pearls for summer 2021, but it was really the comeback of Vivienne Westwood’s orb logo pearl choker necklace that inspired us to add a piece to our own jewellery collection. Another reason we love pearls for the summer is because they encouraged us live out our mermaid fantasies, and feel more connected to the soothing tides of the seaside.
